physical exam & longeing

i don’t think this is what my parents had in mind when they sent me to “horse camp” as a **** scout. I took to the wilderness and horses immediately. Soon, I came to love the feel of horse and rider becoming one on the trail or in the corral. I am thrilled to put those old, beloved skills to use on my brand new human pony!

after some run-ins with bad ponies, who are too feisty or startle easily, I have decided to put this one to the test before i’m willing to mount up! So first, I start with some basic pony training exercises.

longeing (pronounced lungeing) is a technique where a horse works at the end of a long line and respond to commands from a handler who holds the line. It is performed in a circle with the horse traveling around the outside edge of a real or imaginary ring, with its trainer in the middle.

my fetish for equestrian play rests on a lot of real horsemanship. That insight into real horses and real slaves shows in this video where I treat this human pony as my perfect equine initiate. Soon he will be ready to pull my cart and, even better, he will get to wear my saddle while I ride him!

longeing is used to teach a horse how to respond to voice commands and the trainer's body language, to accustom them to the feel of a saddle and bridle and to begin their introduction to the feel of reins and bit pressure. It is a chance for horse and trainer to practice movement at all gaits, responding to voice commands and remaining calm in unusual or stressful situations. It can also be used to "blow off steam" or "get the bucks out" before a rider gets on.

just working my pony at the end of the line isn’t exciting enough for me… so I set out to discover if my new toy really is “**** like a horse.”
